Jordan to increase fuel prices by almost 7pct

(MENAFN) The government's committee charged with pricing oil products proclaimed that it is raising prices by almost 7 percent for the month of Jan due to a hike in global petrol prices.

Accordingly, a liter of 90 octane gasoline will be sold at JD0.62, four piasters up from the recent price of JD0.58, while the new price of 95 octane gasoline will be JD0.81 per liter.

The government relied on the global price indicators, which showed that benchmark Brent oil prices had increased 8 dollars in Dec to USD53.01 per barrel.

Meanwhile, the increase in global crude prices had prompted an increase in oil products in the same period by an average of 12 percent.
