Qatar's GDP hits QR204.62bn in Q3, 2016

(MENAFN) Qatar's real GDP in the third quarter of 2016 reached QR204.62bn, showing an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the estimate of QR197.34bn for Q3, 2015.Furthermore, the positive increase can be attributed to the strong performance of the non-mining and quarrying activities, particularly the Construction, Financial and Insurance activities.However, when estimated at current prices, the quarterly GDP in Q3, 2016 reached QR140.48bn, a decline of 5.7 percent compared to Q3, 2015 at QR149bn.In addition, the nominal Gross Value Added of Mining and Quarrying sector in the cited period of 2016 has been QR43.79bn, a drop of 22.1 percent.
