Jordan aims to pay its fees to contractors

(MENAFN) Jordan is committed to pay its dues to contractors and suppliers and will not collect more liabilities this year in order to ensure uninterrupted flow of supplies that are important for economic growth.

Additionally, the government works on issuing funds to pay back the public debt and lower its ratio to the GDP, while total value of over dues for health, oil, water and elect hit JD620mn in 2016.

Moreover, some JD360mn has been allotted as part of the general budget and the remaining will be settled in 2018, whereas the Finance Ministry paid back JD27mn amid Q1 this year.

Accordingly, the ministry emphasized that the measure corresponds to the goals of the fiscal reform program, by paying the overcharges back to service and goods providers.
