    Egypt's deficit trade balance falls by 46.24pct

    (MENAFN) The deficit of Egypt's trade balance has declined by 46.24 percent amid the first quarter of this year compared to the same period of last year.

    In addition, the amount of fall reached USD5.669bn, emphasizing that the deficit posted an USD6.591bn in the cited period of this year.

    Accordingly, the main reason is the increase in Egyptian exports, explaining that the value of exports reached USD5.519bn instead of USD4.788bn.

    Furthermore, the reduction of imports was another reason, as stated the Minister of Industry, while the imports in this period fell by 29 percent, posting USD12.110bn compared to USD17bn in 2016.
