    Travelers at Dubai airports will pay excise tax

    (MENAFN) Departures and Arrivals at airports of Dubai, have to pay an excise tax of 50 percent on fizzy drinks, and 100% on energy drinks, corresponding to UAE's implementation of the tax.

    Arrivals will only pay 100% tax for tobacco products, if they buy over 400 cigarettes, but it's still not clear if it's the same for departing travelers.

    The decision came after the implementation of excise tax all over UAE on the first of October, with the same percentage.

    According to DDF, an increase of tobacco products sales is anticipated, due to the tax. As customers only have to pay the tax if they buy more than 400 cigarettes.
