UAE residents to pay double for tobacco products
(MENAFN) Residents of UAE will now pay double for tobacco product and caffeinated drinks, while prices of high-in-sugar soft drinks will increase by 50 percent, as the UAE's excise tax comes into effect.
A pack of 20 cigarettes will now cost Dh22, depending on the brand of course, while sugary soft drinks will cost Dh2.25.
Several products set to increase under the Federal Tax Authority's (FTA) new decree-law, as a 330ml can of Coca Cola increased to cost Dh2.25; a 20-pack of Marlboro Lights cost Dh20; and a can of Red Bull cost Dh11-13.
