Abu Dhabi to launch UAV
(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi has launched the first ever of its kind Unnamed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), by the Department of Transport, at Gitex Technology Week Exhibition.
"Al Gernas" UAVs, as the Department of Transport called it, will provide new measures for enhancing the processes of collecting real-time transport and traffic data.
Al Gernas was named in reference to the Peregrine Falcon because of the similarities they have in common regarding their speed, accuracy, and consistency of capturing targets and getting results.
The Department of Transport will launch two models for a start, Matric 600 and Inspire 2; both models will be equipped with the latest intelligent technologies as well as electro-sensors in order to identify the goal, collect data and offer necessary solutions to manage accidents and emergencies.
