Saudi Arabia close petrol stations for hoarding ahead of price hike

(MENAFN) Due to suspecting an act of hoarding fuel before the increase of prices takes effect in Saudi Arabia, 68 petrol stations have been shut January 1st by the Ministry of Commerce and Investment (MCI).

The petrol stations turned down the service of customers or closed pumps 31 December as they waited for the implementation of the rise, according to the ministry.

Officials confirmed that an inspection took place in 1.597 stations as an attempt to minimize the occurrence of fraud or price manipulation.
