Saudi university awarded with grant for biometric security research

(MENAFN) King Abdulaziz City has awarded King Saud University (KSU) with a grant for Science and Technology (KACST) to conduct a research into biometric cryptosystems to help digital security.

The research came to support biometric systems given that a growing number of countries with Saudi Arabia among them have settled to use them for national security and prevention of cyber-crimes such as identity theft.

The grant had been accepted for a project recognized as "Hand-based Biometrics Fusion and Bio-Cryptosystem Computation," as confirmed by Prof. Mohammed Khurram Khan of KSU's Center of Excellence in Information Assurance (CoEIA) along with head of the research project.
