UAE Mitsubishi distributor to recover 4,000 vehicles
(MENAFN) UAE-based Mitsubishi distributor Al Habtoor Motors is to recover over 4,000 vehicles after flaws with wipers emerged.
The distributor has revealed the purpose behind recovering Outlander 2008-2013 models is a result of issues found in the wiper motor.
It released a statement declaring "we regret to inform that due to inappropriate waterproof structure of the front deck portion, water intrusion from front deck garnish and windshield may cause corrosion of the front wiper motor internal part. In the worst case, the wiper motor may become inoperable."
The statement continued "additionally, in the event that water drops down through the back side of the front deck garnish (the body piece between the hood and windshield), the front wiper link ball joint may experience excessive moisture and corrode. If this occurs, the resin case of the ball joint will wear prematurely due to the ball joint corrosion and the wiper link may ultimately separate, causing the windshield wipers to stop operating."
