    MoUs signed for Jordan USD40m electrical storage project

    (MENAFN) Memorandums of understanding were declared to have been signed by Jordan with a total of 23 companies and consortia for the USD40 million electrical storage project to be launched.

    The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has explained the project to store electricity generated through power plants, and is to contain over 30 megawatts power capacity.

    In its statement, the ministry confirmed "the project is important to Jordan and it will maintain stability in the electric supply system."

    The MoUs stated that 500 megawatts of generated electricity through solar and wind power plants to have been recorded by the end of last year, with 2,700 megawatts projected to be generated by 2021.
