    Lebanon's total assets surpass USD43bn

(MENAFN) Governor of Lebanon's Central Bank Riad Salameh declared a USD1.4 billion boost in dollar reserves within 2018's first two months, with its total assets in dollars surpassing USD43 billion.

It was explained as a boost, moving away from a decline that was witnessed by the end of 2017, he stated at an economic conference which Lebanese business magazine Al-Iktissad Wal-Aamal held along with the office of Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

The central bank's governor also reportedly confirmed the first two months of 2018 to have brought about USD1.5 billion rise in the general reserve of the bank and its foreign currencies' assets.

During the conference, he stated "with the rise of interest rates and the return of political issues to normal, the dollar reserves at the central bank rose by around $1.4 billion by the end of February since the end of 2017."
