    Jordan-Turkey free trade agreement suspended

(MENAFN) Jordan reportedly broke off a free trade deal with Turkey, as it saw how local industries received a harmful impact as a result.

Minister of Industry and Trade Yarub Qudah was confirmed to have suggested the agreement to be suspended.

The decision has come with an aim to back up local industries as well as the agricultural sector, seeking their competitiveness to be strengthened.

The move is also considered as a support for Jordan's attempts to assess each free trade deal along with reviewing the economic profit that might be obtained.
