    DP World to acquire stakes in two SEZs of Kazakhstan

    (MENAFN) Dubai Ports (DP) World was confirmed to have secured two deals for the purchased of stakes in two Kazakhstan's Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

    DP World's chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem has signed the framework agreements, along with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy's (KTZ) head Kanat Alpysbayev and , governor of the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan, Yeraly Tugzhanov.

    DP World, under the terms of the agreements, is to own 51 percent stake in the SEZ in Khorgos, along with 49 percent stake in the SEZ in the Port of Aktau.

    In its emailed statement, DP World revealed it was looking to "play an important role in enhancing trade connectivity along the New Silk Road" in managing all cargo types.
