Iraq to send crude oil to Iran 'in one to two weeks'

(MENAFN) Iraq was revealed to be considering the option to begin "in one to two weeks" delivering crude using truck from Kirkuk to Kermanshah refinery in Iran.

Iraq and Iran have agreed on a swap contract at the end of last year, with Iraq required to send 60,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil to Iran.

The head of Iraq's marketer SOMO Alaa al-Yasiri has made the declaration, with it expected to put an end to anticipation that was building up for months.

The head also confirmed oil exports to be recommencing "at any moment" with discussions still in place with Kurdistan Regional Government which is in charge of the pipeline.
