MENA reports 57.6 percent decline in M&A value

(MENAFN) The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region was found to have recorded a 57.6 percent drop in the deal value of mergers (M&A) by the end of last year.

Dubai's provider of M&A data and intelligence Mergermarket found the decline to have occurred as a result of fallen performance in MENA's construction and transport sector.

Mergermarket explained that even though the region was struck with a drop, "the deal count maintained at a level that was consistent with the previous year."

It also showed that 2017 ended with announcing a total of 126 at a value of roughly USD16 billion, from 129 deals at a worth of USD37.8 billion in the previous year.
