    Tunisia to launch international tender for USD1bn solar, wind plants

    (MENAFN) Tunisia was revealed to be preparing for an international tender to be issued for a USD1.03 billion project to establish solar and wind renewable power plants by the end of April.

    Citing Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, the PV Magazine reported the government to be considering a plan to construct 1 GW of new renewable energy capacity.

    The first tenders for solar and wind was declared to be launched in April 27, allocating 300 MW of solar in several states, including Gafsa, Tataouine, Sidibuzid and Tozeur.

    It will also lead to the allocation of 300 MW of wind in two states, which are Nabeul and Kabli 100 MW.
