    Iran, Iraq to swap Kirkuk oil this month

    (MENAFN) Iran and Iraq were declared to be launching their long awaited Kirkuk oil swap within this month, according to Financial Tribune daily.

    Iraq has confirmed during a trip to Baghdad by Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri that it was dedicated to the bilateral deals, such as establishing a pipeline for Kirkuk oil swap and natural gas imports, as revealed by secretary-general of Iran-Iraq Chamber of Commerce Hamid Hosseini.

    The secretary general further stated "if crude oil transfer venture from Kirkuk is launched, close to 650,000 barrels of oil can be delivered to Iran per day."

    He also previously explained that "we can also provide them with engineering services to complete their energy and power projects in return for transferring crude to Iran."
