Lebanon receive USD985m pledge from EIB

(MENAFN) Lebanon has received a pledge from European Investment Bank (EIB) for an USD985 million in public investments by 2020, aiming to support its investment plan.

The pledge offered to Lebanon was declared by the bank's president Werner Hoyer while delivering a speech at the CEDRE conference in Paris.

The president announced "we have provided nearly 1.8 billion euro of financing to projects in Lebanon, of which 45 per cent has been allocated to public investments in critical infrastructure, primarily in wastewater and transport sectors."

During the conference, the president further emphasized how seeking this kind of changes and offering such new actions would allow the EID to put in further investments.
