Jordan says UNRWA funding shortfall to have serious impact
(MENAFN) Jordan was unveiled to have raised concerns over existing funding shortfall of the United Nations Relief and Work Agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) having grave effects.
The statement has been made by Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi during talk with UNRWA Commissioner General Pierre Krahenbuhl over the phone.
The Jordanian minister has made an appeal for the international community to deal with the financial gap of the agency along with allowing it to maintain services for the Palestinian refugees in line with its mandate.
Safadi further stressed Jordan and the agency's commitment to take actions in order to obtain funds for important services in health, education and relief to the Palestinian refugees within its operation area.
