    Sudan completes plan on solar energy, wind power

    (MENAFN) Sudan was declared to have finalized a plan to rely on solar energy and wind power in generating around 1,000 MW of electricity next year.

    The plan achieves a boost in the capacity of Sudan's electricity to hit 5,520 MW until the year 2020.

    Sudan has been ranked by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) as one of the leading African countries in its energy capacity.

    IRENA's rating shows the country to have the capacity to generate renewable energies of up to 1,793 MW per year.
