Morocco permits commercial imports of US poultry, goods
(MENAFN) Morocco has reportedly reached an agreement with the US to authorize, for the first time ever, the commercial imports of American poultry meat and products.
The agreement has been secured following a ban imposed by Morocco on US poultry products imports due to food safety distress.
Under the deal, US imports are required to possess health and Islamic Halal certificates, as reported Le360.ma news site citing the Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries statement.
The deal was also unveiled to be comprising of frozen poultry products and is to allow shipments of a maximum of 8,958 tonnes within this year.
