    Algeria: Sonatrach seeks trade JV with 14 int'l firms

    (MENAFN) Algeria's state energy firm Sonatrach was unveiled to be negotiating a joint venture with fourteen international companies.

    The Algerian energy firm is in talks for a joint venture to trade oil and gas products following an agreement for the purchase of its first abroad refinery.

    The news has been revealed by Sonatrach CEO Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour while speaking to reporters during a trip to the port city of Bejaia.

    The CEO announced "I am happy to say that 14 firms are on the list to do a JV on trading with us."

    Kaddour also confirmed Exxon Mobile to have sent his firm a bid to cooperate on petrochemicals, saying "they want to do business with us on petrochemicals, this is good news because Sonatrach has become more attractive."
