    Egypt opens USD1.1bn cement, marble complex

    (MENAFN) Egypt was announced to have opened its USD1.1 billion cement and marble production complex south of the capital Cairo.

    Ahram news site reported the location of the 500-hectare industrial complex to be 12 km north of the Upper Egyptian governorate of Beni Suef.

    The report added that the complex, concluded in 21 months, consists of three cement plants which allow for an annual production capacity of 12 million tonnes.

    Egypt has been cooperating with twenty domestic and global firms via the Armed Forces Engineering Authority in order to complete the project.
