Iran prepares ground for private investment in renewable energy export

(MENAFN) Iran is reportedly getting the foundation set for private investments in the export of renewable energy.

Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization, or Satba, is to establish relevant rules and create the infrastructure for investors to produce and sell electricity to foreign buyers.

Satba director Peyman Taqipour confirmed that all local and foreign investors are to be able to launch new ventures via the organization.

The director stated "accordingly, legal or natural entities keen on producing renewable energy in the country will be granted land and network access."

Taqipour further added "the government will not benefit from the ventures and the investors will only be charged with land and transit tariffs."
