Qatar eyes greater investments in Germany: report
(MENAFN) Qatar was unveiled to be seeking the investment of billions of dollars into Germany, and is looking to increase its attention on Qatari medium-sized firms.
The news has been reported by business newspaper Handelsblatt, citing diplomatic and company sources.
The newspaper reported the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) along with private sector players to be eyeing Germany's "Mittelstand" manufacturing firms.
Citing Qatari Minister of Finance Ali Sharif al-Emadi, the newspaper wrote "we see Germany as a key player in the world economy and are looking at the German market with great optimism."
The Qatari minister reportedly added "our delegation will be announcing big new investments."
The statement has been made by the minister while speaking to Handelsblatt before the Qatar Germany Business and Investment Forum takes place on September 7th in Berlin.
