    Nokia, Turkey's Turkcell ink deal to develop new techs

    (MENAFN) Nokia was unveiled to have inked a cooperation deal with Turkish GSM operator Turkcell for the development of innovative technologies.

    In a statement, Turkey's leading operator explained that "two companies will work on the Internet of Things (IoT), smart automobile technologies, online medicine, and automatization for the Turkcell network."

    The statement noted that joint projects are to play a part in the country's aim to turn into one of the most prominent countries within the field of technology.

    "With the project, 5G will be commercialized in Turkey and we will take important steps to produce future technologies," stated Turkcell's deputy general manager for networks, Gediz Sezgin.

    "This agreement, which shows Nokia's confidence in Turkey, makes possible to prepare 5G network substructure jointly," added head of Nokia Central Asia and Central Europe, Mikko Lavanti.
