    EU to invest USD20m in Israel Cleantech Ventures

    (MENAFN) Israel Cleantech Ventures (ICV) was confirmed to be set to receive USD20 million of investment from the European Investment Fund (EIF).

    The investment was explained to be part of the EU's Horizon 2020 program, which targets guaranteeing its global competitiveness via broad research and innovation.

    The investment into the Israeli clean-tech fund was unveiled by deputy head of Unit and the European Commission, Ramona Samson.

    The deputy head hailed Israel as "a top world innovator," noting "today's innovations in clean technology coming from Internet and Communication Technology (ICT) will shape tomorrow's global economy."

    Samson further added that the next industrial uprising is ensured to shape the economy using ICT.
