    Turkey's packaging industry see USD539m foreign trade surplus

    (MENAFN) Turkey's packaging industry was unveiled to have saw a boost in its foreign trade surplus during the first half of this year, hitting USD539 million.

    Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD) announced an 8 percent raise in the exports in the packaging industry in terms of quantity, along with a 17 percent increase in terms of value from January to June.

    "The [packaging] exports of our country in 2018 show an average growth of 12 percent per month," stated ASD president Zeki Saribekir.

    The association president added "we should proceed with the target of exporting at least the half of the packaging we produce in Turkey."

    The imports of packaging were also confirmed to have registered a 7 percent increase in quantity as well as a 13 percent jump in value during the period.
