Egypt brings back exports from S. Africa

(MENAFN) Egypt was announced to have revoked a temporary block on South African fruit and vegetable exports.

The temporary ban has been imposed by the Egyptian government after the eruption of listeria epidemic.

Cairo decided to lift the ban after the Health Department assured that South Africa is not suffering from the outbreak anymore.

"That is good news for us," stressed Khaye Nkwanyana of the Department of Agriculture in Egypt.

Nkwanyana stated "it means that all those companies that are trading with Egypt, in relation to those products, those commodities are now back on the market. Which is good for our country [and] good for our economy."
