    Jordan passes income tax draft law

    (MENAFN) The Jordanian cabinet was announced to have passed a new income tax draft law, imposing a hike on taxes on banks alongside other sectors.

    The cabinet confirmed that it carried out a national meeting with several political parties and leading associations to discuss the tax draft law.

    In a statement, the cabinet explained that the bill is to boost the income tax on banks to reach 37 percent from the current 35 percent.

    The statement added that the bill is to raise the tax on the telecom sector from 24 percent to hit 26 percent.

    It further confirmed the draft bill to be carried to the Lower House to receive its approval.
