    Egypt signs major train cars import agreement at USD1.2b

    (MENAFN) Egypt was announced to have inked a major train cars import agreement with a Russian-Hungarian rail consortium.

    In a statement, the Egyptian cabinet confirmed that under the USD1.2 billion agreement, Egypt's railway authority is to receive 1,300 passenger cars from the rail consortium.

    The Egyptian cabinet stated stressed that "it is the largest deal in the history of the Egyptian railways."

    Chairman of Egyptian National Railways (ENR) Ashraf Raslan penned the deal with Vice-President of Transmashholding, Sergo-Shakhzada M. Kurbanov.

    The deal consists of the delivery of 800 cars featuring air conditioning along with 500 cars featuring forced ventilation, as unveiled Raslan.
