Gulf building costs to shrink 20 percent by innovative products: expert

(MENAFN) The Gulf region was suggested to be witnessing a 20 percent decrease in construction costs through the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The statement has been made by Sassan Hatam, a partner at the Middle East branch of Roland Berger while speaking to Xinhua on the sidelines of Dubai's Construction Technology Forum.

The expert supported Dubai's decision to construct 25 percent of its new buildings as 3D-printed, saying it is "a step into the right direction."

Hatam added "computer simulations based on AI can calculate the exact inclusion of, for example, a ready bathroom or reception room into a multi-story house, while robots can do the work onsite."
