    Turkey plunges 59 percent in foreign trade deficit

    (MENAFN) Turkey was announced to have recorded a significant plunge of 59 percent in its annual foreign trade deficit in August.

    The Turkish Statistical Institute unveiled the country to have registered an USD5.9 billion fall in its foreign trade deficit, accounting for USD2.4 billion last month.

    The statistical authority confirmed a 22.7 percent decline to have been seen in Turkey's imports to hit USD14.8 billion, and a 6.5 percent drop in the country's exports to reach USD12.4 billion.

    Turkey was shown to have mostly exported its goods to Germany, amounting for USD1.12 billion, followed by the UK, Iraq and the US.
