    Iraq-Russia trade jumps 52 percent

    (MENAFN) Iraq was confirmed to have seen a 52 percent surge in its bilateral trade with Russia, hitting USD1.4 billion over the past two years.

    The figures have been unveiled by Iraqi Ambassador to Russia Haidar Mansour Hadi while speaking to Sputnik on Friday.

    The Iraqi envoy stated "our relations with Russia are very good, both old and current [relations], they continue. Russian-Iraqi trade has increased by 52 percent from $900 million to $1.4 billion over the past two years."

    The envoy affirmed the two country's commitment to maintain their joint efforts to strengthen their trade and cooperation relations in a range of fields.

    Hadi added that the Iraqi embassy in Russia is prepared to support new Russian firms which are attempting to emerge in the Iraqi market.
