Syria, Iran to step up strategic ties
(MENAFN) Syria and Iran were confirmed to be looking to strengthen their strategic partnership in the field of energy.
During a meeting, Syrian Electricity Minister Mohammad Zuhair Kharboutli and Iranian Chairman of the Board of MAPNA Group for Electricity Abbas Aliabadi explored ways to bolster their countries' relations.
The Syrian and Iranian offials, during their talks, highlighted the agreement achieved on the establishment of a power generation station in Lattakia, which is to provide a capacity of 540 Watt.
Both sides also addressed ways to offer spare parts, along with securing a deal on the import of gas to Aleppo Station besides fixing Aleppo thermal power generation station with a capacity of 400 Watt.
