Moroccan economy down to 2.4 percent

(MENAFN) The Moroccan economic growth was unveiled to have experienced a slow down during the second quarter of this year, registering 2.4 percent from the previous 4.5 percent.

The figures were revealed in a note dedicated to Morocco's economy released by the official High Commission for Planning.

The commission explained the drop to have specifically been driven due to decline in agricultural production to hit 3 percent, from its previous 18.1 percent last year.

The country's central bank announced an economic forecast of a decrease to reach 3.5 percent in this year compared to 4.1 percent in 2017.

The bank is also projecting the situation to persist next year, expecting a further economic growth decline to hit 3.1 percent.
