    Egypt sees 11.8 percent boost in non-petroleum trade Jan-Aug

    (MENAFN) Egypt was announced to have recorded an 11.8 percent boost in its foreign trade of non-petroleum products from January to August this year, reaching USD59.68 billion.

    The exports of Egypt also registered a 10 percent jump during the first eight months of 2018, standing at USD16.56 billion from the USD14.99 billion posted in 2017.

    Egyptian imports saw a 12 percent surge during the same period, hitting USD43.14 billion compared to USD38.35 billion last year.

    The figures were unveiled in a report of which the General Organization for Import and Export Control released.

    It comes as the country struggled with a number of challenges and collapse in its economy due to political crises and relevant security problems.
