    Qatar's Majda wins deal to acquite Tunisian stake in Islamic bank

    (MENAFN) Qatar's Majda Group was declared to have secured a contract to purchase a USD130 million worth of stake in the Zitouna Islamic Bank belonging to the Tunisian state.

    The news has been unveiled on Wednesday by head of Al Karama Holding, Adel Ghrar while speaking to Reuters.

    The chief confirmed: "Mejda group has made the highest financial offer, winning the state share in Zitouna Bank (67 percent) and Zitouna Takaful insurance (70 percent) for 370 million Tunisian dinars ($131.64 million)."

    The agreement demonstrates a desire for the Tunisian market to deal with leading lenders from the Middle East.
