Saudi Arabia won't pay US for security

(MENAFN) Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman emphasized his country will not pay Washington for its own security, saying his oil-rich country was established even before the U.S. itself.

On Friday, bin Salman told Bloomberg in an exclusive interview, "Saudi Arabia was there before the United States of America. It's there since 1744, I believe more than 30 years before the United States of America".

U.S. Leader Donald Trump said last week the Saudi King would not remain two weeks in authority the U.S. military backing.

But bin Salman reduced the importance of Trump's remarks, saying "you have to accept that any friend will say good things and bad things".

The Crown Prince emphasized Riyadh has paid for all weapons bought from the U.S.
