    Saudi-Bahrain oil pipeline new phase commences

    (MENAFN) Saudi Aramco unveiled alongside the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) the launch of the new phase of the Saudi-Bahrain crude oil pipeline: the AB-4 pipeline.

    The pipeline project is looking to meet the increasing energy demand witnessed in Bahrain, Saudi Aramco explained.

    The Saudi oil company confirmed that the pipeline is to have a transportation capacity of as much as 350,000 barrels of crude oil a day.

    The new phase of the pipeline is to cover three stages which, including a 42-kilometres onshore Saudi segment, a 28-kilometres Bahrain onshore segment, and a 42-kilometres offshore segment.

    Acting executive head of pipelines distribution & terminals Abdullah M. Mansour stated: "the commissioning of the AB-4 pipeline is another chapter in the special relationship between Saudi Aramco and BAPCO in several aspects including the energy sector that has flourished for more than 73 years and beyond."
