    Turkey's health tourism to generate USD1.5b

    (MENAFN) Head of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TURSAB) Firuz Baglikaya announced a forecast for medical tourism to bring a profit of about USD1.5 billion to Turkey this year.

    The TURSAB unveiled: "the country's medical tourism income rose by 17 percent [nearly $600 million] in the first half of 2018 compared to the same period last year."

    Speaking to Anadolu Agency, the chief noted that the profit of the Turkish medical tourism hit USD1 billion in 2017.

    Baglikaya added that Turkey saw a significant contribution from the health tourism, indicating a great potential for the country.

    Turkey already generated USD4.4 billion from 2013 until last year from the health tourism, as showed data the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) released.
