Tourism flourishes in Jordanian Aqaba port

(MENAFN) The Port of Aqaba in Jordan has flourished its tourism industry as it welcomed three Dubai-bound cruise ships within this year.

Tourism in the Jordanian Aqaba port witnessed a boost receiving around 5,000 cruise tourists from three ships, which are AIDAvita, Mein Schiff 4 and Seabourn Encore.

The cruise tourists began sightseeing the city, along with the Wadi Rum desert and Petra, as stated Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) spokesperson Abdul Mahdi Qatamin.

The spokesperson stated: "their itinerary included tours within the 'Golden Triangle' of Aqaba, Petra and Wadi Rum."

Qatamin added "but some also chose to visit sites outside of the triangle, such as the Baptism Site and the Dead Sea."
