Oman's Duqm refinery generates USD4.61b funds

(MENAFN) Oman-based Duqm refinery project was declared to have collected USD4.61 billion of funds from several sources.

Oman's Duqm refinery is considered as a joint venture between the Oman Oil Company and Kuwait Petroleum International.

The Omani major project covers the development, construction and operation of the refinery, along with on-site utilities, infrastructure and storage.

The project's chief financial officer Mubarak Al Naamany stated "the $4.61 billion multi-sourced financing signed for the project is not only the largest project financing in the sultanate of Oman."

Al Naamany added "it also includes the largest Shariah-compliant facility to a green field project in Oman provided by a consortium of Islamic financing institutions."
