Egypt seeks to hit USD1b in exports to U.S.

(MENAFN) Egypt was announced to have set out a target to increase its exports to the U.S. under the Qualified Industrial Zones (QIZ) agreement.

The news was declared by Ashraf Al Rabie, head of QIZ division at the Egyptian trade ministry, during an interview with Amwal Al Ghad.

The Egyptian exports to the U.S. are planned to be raised to hit USD1 billion by next year and "$850 million of exports by the end of 2018," the QIZ division head revealed.

The QIZ protocol presents Egyptian clothing producers with access to the U.S. market with no tariffs if the goods had no more than 10.5 percent Israeli input.
