    Qatar eyes stronger cooperation with Iraq

    (MENAFN) Qatar is seeking to boost its bilateral relations with Iraq, looking to strengthen cooperation in various areas, including trade and energy.

    The statement was made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, in Baghdad during talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi.

    Qatar's deputy prime minister stated: "Iraq has emerged stronger after the victory over terrorism and we are looking forward to further cooperation in the fields of trade and energy in the next stage," said a statement the Iraqi prime minister's office released.

    Iraq's prime minister also stressed that he is focusing on plans related to growth in economy, investment and the opening of job opportunities.

    Mahdi added "we are working for good relations with countries and facilitating investment procedures which will contribute to the development of the economy."
