    Omran, Damac launch groundwork on mixed-use waterfront project

    (MENAFN) Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) launched the initial work of turning the landmark Mina Al Sultan Qaboos (MASQ) port into a major integrated mixed-use waterfront destination.

    Omran began the groundwork to renovate MASQ as a USD2 billion waterfront destination jointly with Dubai property group Damac.

    The Omani tourism development arm explained the initiative to be part of the National Strategy for Tourism 2040.

    The project is to be offering various amenities which cover hotels, residences, food and beverage, retail and entertainment services.

    "The first stage of this project aims to set the foundation for the transformation, enhance traffic management, while establishing the necessary framework that will cement local SMEs' and Omani nationals' progressive role within the project," stated Chairman of Omran Dr Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy.
