Egyptian expert: Chinese tech key to clean energy in Arab states
(MENAFN) An Egyptian expert suggested that the key for Arab countries to achieve more clean energy usage is Chinese technology and knowledge in the area.
The statement was made during an interview with Xinhua by Mohamed Mousa, first undersecretary for research, planning and international cooperation at the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy.
The Egyptian official affirmed that "China is distinguished with the highest renewable energy capabilities in the world, whether wind or solar energy, and it has the largest power grids and networks worldwide."
The official then noted: "so, cooperation with China in the field of energy is vital for Arab states."
It comes as China's leading corporations launched several energy projects in Arab countries which cover the UAE, Egypt, Morocco and Jordan.
Mousa added "we're working with China's Sinohydro on the construction of a major pumped-storage hydropower plant in Ataqah Mountain in Suez province northeastern Egypt with a capacity of 2,400 megawatts, besides our cooperation with State Grid Corporation of China and Huawei."
