    Egypt jumps 72.1 percent in 2017 exports to Nile basin

    (MENAFN) Egypt recorded a boost in its exports to Nile basin countries by the end of last year, standing at USD1.11 billion.

    The Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAMPAS) unveiled the figure in its yearly report on trade exchange between Egypt and the Nile basin countries for last year.

    Egyptian exports to Nile basin countries, including Sudan and Ethiopia, registered a 72.1 percent surge last year compared to the previous year.

    Egypt also posted a 43.5 percent jump in its imports for the countries, which also include Uganda, Congo-Kinshasa, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Eritrea.
