Qatar, India to boost energy cooperation
(MENAFN) Qatar is expected to see the development of its cooperation with India within various fields, mainly energy and power.
Top Qatari and Indian firms are investing efforts for the establishment of joint ventures (JVs) between them, aiming for the construction of power plants in the two countries.
The two sides were unveiled to be in talks for means to set up cooperation between them, seeking the exchange of expertise as well as specialized services in electricity and power plant management.
"We had a very good meeting today with top officials of Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC), country's main power producer," stated Executive Director of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) G Venu.
Venu added "we have expressed our interests in developing a power project in Qatar as well as offering our expertise and other services to them, and received a very positive response."
